"Ci-Lines" Installation by Aaron Asis at St. Andrew's Collegiate Chapel
Friday February 20, 2015 - 6 to 8 p.m.
University City Arts League presents "Ci-Lines" a temporary site-specific installation by AiO artist Aaron Asis at the historic St. Andrew's Collegiate Chapel. The installation will be open to the public on:
February 20 from 6-8 pm
February 28, from 12-4 pm
March 1, from 12-4 pm
Asis will collaborate with the fifth-grade class at Penn Alexander School to create an installation consisting of a scattered series of cords in tension, geometrically tethered to the architectural details of the chapel. Asis' work draws connections between people and space and inspires new experiential relationships with built-environs.
St. Andrew's was modeled on Oxford's English Gothic style and built in 1923 by the Philadelphia Divinity School in association with Penn to educate Episcopal priests. "Ci-Lines" presents an unprecedented opportunity to experience the interior of the chapel, which remains locked for most of the year.
The chapel is located at 4205 Spruce Street, directly across the street from the Arts League.
