Philadelphia Mural Arts Program - AiO Art Stations

Thu June 10 to Sat June 12, 2010 - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program will host several "art stations" along the river during the Art In The Open festival at which festival goers and passersby may participate in art activities.

Thursday, June 10th and Friday, June 11th:

Cathleen Hughes will provide an opportunity for festival participants and passersby to participate in a hands-on mural painting activity. Two or three 5' x 5' panels will be pre-designed with abstract and other elements related to life along the river. These designs will be sketched onto the panels to be painted in a color-by-number fashion.   Concurrently, Harvey Weinreich will provide an opportunity for festival participants to create their very own "take-away" collages made from scraps of fabric, leaves and bark and other organic materials found along the river. This will be sited in the South Garden near to the Waterworks Interpretive Center

Saturday, June 12th:

Miriam Singer will provide an opportunity for festival participants to create their very own "take-away" wood block prints of fish and other life relevant to the Schuylkill. This will be sited in the South Garden near to the Waterworks Interpretive Center.
